RECENT FAMILY NEWS  -
SUMMER 2004
(updated August, 2004)

We seem to have lots of folks on vacation and doing other interesting summer things  -  I have
included excerpts from family members' recent emails below.

THE GOLOFFS, of NORTHFIELD, NJ

Mike and Carol are quite involved in making the "Atlantic City Around the Island Marathon Swim"
the success that it is.  (While many of us remember the swim from our childhood, those who
moved away may not realize the Swim was discontinued for many years - and only with the hard
work of many, including Mike and Carol, has once again become a world-class event).

From Carol Goloff:

Joshua was accepted into an Elite Gifted and Talented math program for 6th grade having
scored in the 97th percentile on this year's standardized test and getting straight "A"s all four
marking periods. (Now if we could only get him to learn where the laundry hamper is).
Rachael was again placed in the Gifted and Talented program for Math and Language Arts. She
goes into 4th grade in September.

Both children attended Penn State Competitive Swim Camp in June. Josh loved it...Rachael
hated it.

Buenos Dias, Sally

Sally Reid has been spending nearly all her time in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  Sally has
discovered the orphanage is in terrible need, and has stayed most of the year to lend a hand.
Sally is always happy to hear from home, so anyone interested in contacting her can do so at
OldSal15@aol.com

She has also managed to adopt a dog, who she named Dulce Maria (and I was hoping she
could get her hands on that little Taco Bell chihuahua).

From Arlene (Davis) Bartfeld
(Here are some excerpts from Arlene's note to me, following her and Bob's recent trip to Israel)

There is always something new with each trip to the country.  Many new hi-rise very modern
buildings;  new highways for easier travel; restaurants are non-stop  and  food is excellent.
Currently the Shekel/Dollar ratio  is  4 to one.  Needless to say, security is prevalent,  an
absolute necessity.

For those who have not experienced the country of Israel, when reading or being told about it,  I
always suggest  looking at both the world-map and map of Israel.  It helps and should be an eye
opener.

Here's hoping that the  global community comes to understand and desire,  that "freedom"  and
"respect of themselves and for others"  must  rule-the-day.  'Freedom' should mean - that which
is  'good' and 'right';   not that  anything goes

THE GRAPEVINE - the Huddys

Storey and Damien Hess are leaving South Jersey for Connecticut, where Damien will become
part of the Rangers organization  - and Storey will be a short train ride away from Samantha and
NYC.

Could it be true  -  a recent murmuring that Lee Huddy is thinking of leaving Las Vegas for points
east, after what, 27 years?

We hear Pauline is well on the road to recovery, and all wish her a speedy and full recovery.

Jai and Ranee Patel on their recent visit to England,
with Sonal (wife of cousin Pap) and their little cousin Dhrupan

Believe it or not, I can finally post a few photos of the new dealership under construction  -  which will
open around October 1.

Though unplanned at the beginning of the project our new store, TEAM Honda, will be the largest Honda
Powersports dealership in the United States (OK, so we got a little carried away).
